What sets PsychEEC apart from other places that conduct psychological evaluations?

Education, experience, and cost matter!

Education: Some graduate programs have few, if any, required courses on assessment and testing. Alternatively, Dr. Schuster received extensive training in graduate school for conducting psychological assessments, including testing. She had several courses on assessment and testing. Additionally, Dr. Schuster attended a graduate school that was APA accredited and an APA accredited internship, which means that her school and internship met high educational and training standards. Dr. Schuster participates in continuing education courses to ensure up-to-date information and materials are used.

Experience: Dr. Schuster has worked in multiple different settings with a variety of clients for over 20 years.  She received extensive clinical supervision early in her career and has provided clinical supervision to others later in her career. Dr. Schuster is an expert in both evaluations and therapy.

Cost: You will find that the costs for psychological evaluations at PsychEEC are lower than most other clinics. You are encouraged to view the Pricing page and compare our costs to other clinics.

My child is on an IEP for a “learning disability” but the testing report does not give any specific diagnoses. Do you put diagnoses in your reports?

Yes, PsychEEC will list all mental health diagnoses in your report, if you meet the diagnostic criteria for a diagnosis (or diagnoses, if there is more than one). In the feedback session, Dr. Schuster will review the diagnosis with you and will offer recommendations based on your symptoms.

Is there a cancellation fee?

If you cancel within 24 hours of the initial online appointment, there is a cancellation fee of $50. This applies to no shows as well. For a cancellation within 24 hours of an in-person testing appointment, there is a cancellation fee of $200. For self-pay, the half paid at the time of the initial assessment is nonrefundable.

If I arrive late to my appointment, am I still able to be seen?

It depends, but often, the appointment will have to be rescheduled. For evaluation appointments, there is usually more flexibility, so if you are running less than ten minutes late, we are typically able to accommodate you. If you are more than 10 minutes late, you may need to be rescheduled, and the late cancellation fee would apply. Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early in order to allow for any unexpected slow downs.

Is Dr. Schuster accepting new therapy clients?

Dr. Schuster is not accepting new therapy clients.

What should I bring with me to my appointment?

If you are being seen for an evaluation, it is recommended that you bring something to drink, such as water, and bring healthy snacks. If you wear glasses or a hearing aid, it is important to remember that as well. In preparation for your appointment, take all medication as prescribed. Ensure that you have had a good meal prior to your appointment, and avoid extra caffeine or excessive sugar intake prior to the appointment. If you are a parent/legal guardian of a child being tested, you’ll want to bring things with to stay occupied during your child’s appointment.
